LEGAL REGISTER UPDATES
The constant stream of national, provincial and local government legislation emanating from government, results in new or changed definitions of potential transgressors, or the factual elements that amount to potential transgressions.
Updating legal registers, therefore, is a constant and resource-consuming activity. The failure to update a legal register inevitably increases the ineffectiveness and costs related to both legislation-related compliance, and transgression-monitoring, programmes.
Whether or not a piece of legislation should be placed on or should remain on a legal register, depends on the potential transgressor status of the person or entity to which it applies.
The LegalB Rule of Law Database facilitates regular Potential Transgressor Updating as it identifies amendments to and repeals of items that may be listed on a legal register, and which provides amended Potential Transgressor Lists for those items. This service is available on annual subscription.
