Summary of Gazettes published during the week ending 5th March, 2010
We specialise in auditing legislation. As a public service, we keep track of the date on each Gazette, the date each Gazette was first issued, and the date each Gazette became generally available.
We do this because very often Gazettes are not timeously made available to the public, and the public therefore are not given a proper chance to respond to notices in the Gazettes. Even more seriously, where Acts are published in Gazettes not made available timeously, it means that the law contained in such Act remains secret law except to a few.
Therefore, our objective is not to be first in line in getting you information about Gazettes by hook or by crook, whether the Gazettes were properly published or not. Our objective is to ensure that you know when you are being unfairly prejudiced by the publication process itself.

General comment: When we went to collect the week’s Gazettes from the Government Printing Work’s subscription collection counter on Friday 5th March 2010, we were advised that the “A and B” Gazettes containing legal notices, and an unidentified “provincial liquor application” Gazette, had not been received from the printer, and that therefore the Gazettes issued this week that should have been sent out on subscription or be made available for collection by subscribers on Friday, would probably only go out on Monday. We had to specially request that subscription copies of Gazettes issued this week be made available to us. We were then provided with a subscription or press copy of Gazettes with the following numbers:
